  • Q. What happens if I already have a unit that is not holding a charge because I never ran the battery completely dead? A. It is sometimes possible to rejuvenate the battery by completely running the unit dead and turning it OFF and recharging it. Performing this Procedure three to four days in a row may rejuvenate the battery to original strength.

Shavers

  • Q. How long should foils last? A. Depending on use, a foil should last from 4-6 months. To get the longest life, don't press hard when shaving. The foils are extra thin for a close shave. Pushing hard will cause the foil to contact the cutter bar and damage may occur.
  • Q. How long to Nickel-Cadmium batteries last? A. With proper maintenance, Ni-Cd batteries should last from 2-5 years. These batteries should be completely discharged at least once a month and recharged overnight for 16 hours.
  • Q. Where do I get repairs for my shaver? A. You may take it to a local Service Center. Find the location nearest to you at the Services & Repairs page of this site. Otherwise, you may return your shaver direct to Wahl at 3001 North Locust Street, Sterling, IL 61081. Attention Wahl Repair Department.
  • Q. How do I know if my shaver is still under warranty? A. With the receipt, the two-year warranty period begins on the day of purchase. Without the receipt, it begins on the date the shaver was manufactured. Look on the bottom of your shaver, near the power cord. The first set of numbers you will find indicates the week of the year the shaver was manufactured. The second set is the year.

Blades

  • Q. Which blades fit which clippers? A. #1045 is the universal blade set for all corded home kits with two screws on the blade. #2094 is the standard blade set for HomePro Rechargeable Cord/Cordless models with detachable blade sets.
  • Q. What about blade sharpening? A. Blades may be sharpened by sending them to: Wahl Annex, 3001 North Locust Street, Sterling, IL 61081. Attention Wahl Repair Department.
  • Q. How do I clean my blades? A. The best way to clean your blades is to simply hold your unplugged trimmer at a downward angle and wipe off excess hair with cleaning brush and follow with a drop of oil. Also make sure to unscrew the blades and brush out any cut hairs that may be jamming the blades. Reattach blades and align.
  • Q. How do I align my blades? A. The bottom blade holes are larger than the shanks of the blade screws. When the blade screws are loosened the bottom blade can be aligned with the top blade. Tighten the screws and ensure that they are kept tight. The end of the top blade teeth should align 1/32" to 1/16"(.79mm to 1.59m") back from and parallel to the bottom blade. This ensures that the clipper does not cut too close and prevents the moving blade from touching the skin.
  • Q. What blades are available for different products? A. Please refer to the Product Accessories page at www.wahl-store.com.
  • Q. Are the blades really, really sharp? A. While the blades are sharp, there is relatively little chance to cut yourself due to the blade alignment of both the top and bottom blades.
  • Q. I have only had my cordless trimmer/clipper for two months and it won't work anymore, or it only works for a few minutes before it stops, is there a problem with my unit? A. On any cordless rechargeable product, you must use the unit frequently to keep it operating properly. As stated in the instruction booklet, you should run the trimmer's/clipper's battery completely dead at least once a month, otherwise, if you only use the unit two minutes every day eventually it will work for only two minutes between charges. Thus, to prolong the life of your unit, you should completely discharge the battery at least once a month.

Oiling Caution

  • Q. How often should I oil my clipper? A. In order to ensure that you get the most life and performance out of your clipper or trimmer, we recommend that you oil before each use. To oil, hold the unit with the blades facing downward. With the clipper or trimmer running, dispense 2-3 drops of oil across the top blade. (Use Wahl Clipper Oil ONLY! Other oils will gum up the blades.) Wipe off the excess oil so it does not run into the motor compartment to avoid poor motor performance. Oil after using disinfectant or sanitizing solution.

Please visit www.wahlglobal.com for more information.
  • Q. Will Wahl Home Pet clippers work for grooming a long haired cat? A. Yes, they will work on long haired cats. Please follow the instructions by bathing, drying and brushing your cat. You can begin clipping your cat once the coat of your cat is completely dry. Please introduce your cat to the clipper by turning it on and let them get used to the noise before grooming. This will make the event more enjoyable for you and your cat.
  • Q. Why can't I use the clippers I already use for my families hair on my pet? A. We would not recommend using the human hair clippers on animals. We would recommend using the Pet Pro or Pro-Series clippers. These clippers are specially designed to cut animal hair.

Massagers

  • Q. Where can I buy Wahl Massagers? A. At many drug stores and hospital supply houses, by calling 800-767-9245 or by visiting www.wahl-store.com.
  • Q. When should I use a Wahl Massager? A. First, you should consult a physician to ensure that the pain is not related to any specific health condition or recent trauma that would be negatively impacted by the application of pressure stemming from the use of a hand-held vibrating Massager. Once you are cleared by a physician or you are experiencing routine muscle pain or soreness, a Wahl Massager is a great way to help alleviate the pain without relying exclusively on analgesic medications.
